136 destinations served from Brussels Airport this winter, including 4 new ones

More than 1.7 million passengers expected during the autumn holidays

This winter season, passengers travelling from Brussels Airport can choose from no fewer than 136 direct destinations, including four new routes. Traditional winter destinations remain very popular, but passengers are also clearly looking for sunny beach vacations during the cold winter months. During the autumn holidays, the airport expects more than 1.7 million travellers.

Four new destinations and increased flight offering

The winter season at Brussels Airport starts on 25 October. Anyone looking to get away over the coming months will have more than enough choice among the 136 direct destinations. Four new destinations have also been added to the network this year.

From 1 December, there will be two weekly flights to the popular Spanish pilgrimage destination Santiago de Compostela with the new airline Fly2Galicia. EasyJet will fly twice a week to new destination Nantes from 26 October. Those looking for deep fjords and unspoilt Scandinavian nature can travel this winter with Brussels Airlines to Kemi-Tornio in Finland (two weekly flights from 25 December) or to Evenes in Norway to see the Northern Lights (once a week from 6 February 2027).

Other airlines are also expanding their offering. Since the summer, Transavia has operated a full base at Brussels Airport and will fly three times a week to Las Palmas (Spain) from 28 October, twice a week to Reykjavik (Iceland) from 30 October and three times a week to Porto (Portugal) from 14 December. In addition, Brussels Airlines and Finnair will also serve the popular Finnish ski resort of Kittilä this winter season. Finally, Etihad will increase its frequency to Abu Dhabi from seven to eleven flights per week from 15 December.

During the cold winter months, Belgians traditionally travel to sunny destinations in Spain, Morocco and the Canary Islands. The Scandinavian region too remains popular, especially among travellers who cannot get enough of winter sports and winter fun. In addition, travellers have access to the airport's strong intercontinental network, with no fewer than 40 nonstop destinations.

More than 1.7 million travellers during the autumn holidays

Before winter arrives, Brussels Airport is first preparing for a busy autumn holiday period. In French-speaking education, the autumn holidays start on Friday 16 October, which will also be the busiest day of the holiday period with approximately 82,000 passengers.

After the two-week autumn holiday in French-speaking Belgium, the holiday period in Dutch-speaking education starts on Friday 30 October. In total, the airport expects more than 1.7 million passengers throughout the entire holiday period. As the holidays in both language communities do not coincide this year, unlike last year, it is difficult to make a comparison with 2025.

A smooth start to the holidays requires proper preparation. The airport therefore also recommends that passengers arrive two hours ahead of their scheduled departure time for flights within the Schengen area and three hours for non-Schengen flights. Brussels Airport is easily accessible by public transport, but those coming by car can reserve a parking space online in advance. Finally, travellers are advised to review all hand luggage rules before they leave for the airport so that the security screening process can run efficiently.
