The facility will serve as ConnexEurope&rsquo;s Belgian headquarters and support its European operations. Formerly operating under the Comexas name, the company has been active at Brussels Airport since the 1990s and specialises in logistics flows between Europe and Africa, focusing on air freight, sea freight, customs, and transport.</strong> </p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">The new ConnexEurope site, realised by Brussels Airport, includes around 3,400 m&sup2; of warehouse space and 500 m&sup2; of offices, creating a more practical set up for day to day coordination across shipments and transport modes. The facility brings ConnexEurope&rsquo;s Belgian teams and activities together under one roof. \u200b </p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">Sustainability was a key element in the design of the building, which has obtained BREEAM Excellent certification. This reflects strong performance in energy efficiency and environmental impact and is in line with Brussels Airport&rsquo;s broader ambition to modernise its cargo infrastructure in a sustainable way. </p><blockquote style=\"text-align: justify\">&ldquo;<em>ConnexEurope, formerly Comexas, is part of the history of Brussels Airport&rsquo;s cargo operations. Seeing this long-standing collaboration continue through the inauguration of a modern and sustainable logistics facility is a genuine source of pride. This project illustrates how we grow alongside our partners by providing infrastructure that keeps pace with the evolution of their activities and the current requirements of the logistics sector</em>,&rdquo; explains <strong>Geert Aerts, Chief Cargo &amp; Real Estate at Brussels Airport</strong>. </blockquote><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>ConnexEurope, a new name and a stronger presence </strong> </p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">With a new name and a centralised hub in Brussels, the company is entering its next phase of growth. It does so by building on its long-standing presence, teams and expertise at Brussels Airport. ConnexEurope currently employs around 25 people at Brussels Airport and is actively recruiting to support its continued development. </p><blockquote style=\"text-align: justify\">&ldquo;<em>The launch of ConnexEurope and the opening of our new headquarters at Brussels Airport represent a key milestone for the group. This location gives us the space and structure to grow our European activities, while staying close to what defines us: strong teams, solid expertise and a clear focus on service</em>,&rdquo; says <strong>Jan Willem de Braal, Group Managing Director at ConnexAfrica &amp; ConnexEurope</strong>. </blockquote><p style=\"text-align: justify\">From its Brussels hub, ConnexEurope handles air freight via passenger aircraft, cargo freighters and charters, alongside sea freight and specialised services such as perishables and complex project cargo, particularly for mining clients in Africa. </p><blockquote style=\"text-align: justify\">&ldquo;<em>Operating from a single, centralised facility allows us to work more cohesively, streamlining the management of shipments across different transport modes.
