100 days to go until the Winter Olympics

Brussels Airport, Team Belgium and Paralympic Team Belgium unveil countdown clock in the departure hall

Brussels Airport, the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (BOIC) and the Belgian Paralympic Committee (BPC) have jointly unveiled an impressive countdown clock in the departure hall of Brussels Airport. The clock is counting down to the start of the Olympic Winter Games on 6 February 2026, in exactly 100 days. Brussels Airport has extended and deepened its partnership with Team Belgium and Paralympic Team Belgium. For many athletes, Brussels Airport is the start and finishing point of their Olympic dream.

The button to start the countdown clock to the Olympic Winter Games was pressed this morning by Brussels Airport CEO Arnaud Feist, BOIC CEO Cédric Van Branteghem, BOIC president Jean-Michel Saive and BPC president Ellen Van Camp. The two-metre-high, cube-shaped clock is counting down to the start of the Milan-Cortina Winter Games, 100 days away. This event also symbolises the renewed collaboration.

“Brussels Airport, Team Belgium and Paralympic Team Belgium join forces to begin a new chapter together. We share the same goal: connecting people and experiencing unforgettable moments together. To us, Brussels Airport is more than just an airport. It is a place where adventures start and dreams come true. Our collaboration with Team Belgium and Paralympic Team Belgium reaches far beyond the world of sports. It embodies the power of working together and our joint ambition to proudly represent Belgium to travellers from all over the world as well as at the Olympic and Paralympic Games”, says Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport.

“The BOIC is proud to strengthen its partnership with Brussels Airport,” says Jean-Michel Saive, president of the BOIC. “The airport has a special meaning not just to me, but to many Team Belgium athletes: it is the starting point to competitions abroad and the place where you reunite with family and friends on return. I thank Brussels Airport for its trust and look forward to this valuable cooperation with Team Belgium.”

In early January 2026, the countdown clock will be relocated from the departure hall to the area near the Tintin rocket in Pier A. From 23 February 2026, it will begin to count down there to the start of the Paralympic Winter Games in Milan-Cortina on 6 March 2026.

Brussels Airport, Team Belgium and Paralympic Team Belgium strengthen and renew their partnership

A partner of the BOIC and BPC since 2016, Brussels Airport has renewed and strengthened its collaboration with Team Belgium and Paralympic Team Belgium for the next four years. Through this renewed partnership, Brussels Airport seeks to promote our country and its athletes and to support their ambition and determination.

“The fact that Brussels Airport is strengthening its partnership with both committees is particularly symbolic. We attach great importance to partners who share our values of equality and inclusion. For our athletes, the airport is the starting point of an inspiring journey: a place where comfort, accessibility, and quality make a difference. It is also a gateway to the world, where our athletes push boundaries and write stories that positively change the perception of disability,” explains Ellen Van Camp, President of the BPC.

Brussels Airport shares the core values of the Olympic movement: excellence, connection and respect. Like sports, the airport brings together people across boundaries. During the Games, Brussels Airport will welcome athletes and supporters from around the world, connecting them smoothly and safely to their destinations.
