142 direct winter destinations from Brussels Airport during the winter season
Three new destinations and two new airlines
This winter, travellers flying from Brussels Airport will have a choice of no fewer than 142 direct destinations. Around 1,500 passenger flights will depart from the airport each week. In addition to the traditional winter destinations available from December, the offer includes three new destinations: Bangkok, Curaçao, and Tromsø. Brussels Airport is gearing up for the autumn mid-term break, anticipating approximately 79,000 passengers on the busiest day of the break.
New York, Dubai, Singapore, Porto, or Innsbruck. These are just a few of the 142 direct destinations available from the 60 airlines operating out of Brussels Airport this winter season. Additionally, two new airlines are offering two new destinations this winter season. Thai Airways International will offer daily flights to Bangkok starting from 1 December, while Norwegian will fly to Tromsø twice a week from 31 October. A third new destination, Curaçao, will be available from 5 November, with flights operated twice a week by TUI fly.
Winter sports enthusiasts can travel from Brussels Airport to snowy destinations this winter season, including Innsbruck, Salzburg, Tromsø, Kittilä, and Kuusamo. And those who prefer destinations further away, are sure to find their liking! Passengers can choose from exciting North American destinations like New York, Chicago, and Washington, among others. Sun lovers can escape to a variety of destinations in the Caribbean, sub-Saharan Africa, or the Gulf States.
Several destinations from the summer programme will also be available during the winter season. As a result, Brussels Airlines will maintain its schedule, flying three times a week to Krakow and four times a week to Nairobi. Widerøe operates two flights a week to Bergen, while Transavia offers two flights a week to Bari. Those planning to visit Shanghai can choose from seven flights a week, operated by Hainan Airlines and Juneyao Air. Additionally, Singapore Airlines offers four flights a week to Singapore.
Brussels Airport is expecting more than 1.2 passengers during the autumn mid-term break
With the onset of the autumn break in French-speaking Belgium, Brussels Airport anticipates around 75,000 passengers on Friday, 18 October. The busiest day of the mid-term period is expected to be a week later, on Friday, 25 October, coinciding with the start of the autumn break in Flanders, when the airport expects 79,000 passengers. In total, nearly 1.2 million passengers are expected to travel during the two weeks from Friday, 18 October, to Sunday, 3 November.
This year too, travellers can enjoy an extensive catering and shopping offer at Brussels Airport. This starts already in the departure hall with the brand-new shop of suitcase manufacturer Samsonite. In addition, two new Estée Lauder cosmetics shops have opened in Pier A and Pier B. Still in Pier B, even the very youngest travellers can now relax and play for a while in the new kids’ corner before their flight
Brussels Airport advises all travellers to arrive on time, with a general guideline of two hours in advance for Schengen flights and three hours for non-Schengen flights. Passengers can check the website or app for tailored advice specific to their flight. In addition, it is also advisable to select a means of transport in advance (train, bus, car, taxi, car-sharing etc.) and, for those arriving by car, reserve a parking space. Brussels Airport's revamped app offers passengers all the practical information they need for their flight and journey through the airport, including check-in row numbers, waiting times at security control, and gate numbers.
