Brussels Airport is ready to welcome a parade of passengers with Easter bunnies and chocolate eggs during the Easter holidays

This Friday will mark the start of the Easter holidays. A time of year that is often synonymous with spring, sun and, for many families, escape. At Brussels Airport, the Easter holidays herald the first busy days of the year. Nearly 1.3 million passengers will be passing through Brussels Airport to fly off to, mainly, sunny destinations in an atmosphere of fun and entertainment.

The Easter holidays see the launch of the summer season at Brussels Airport. This means that thousands of passengers will be flocking to the terminal. In fact, during the two weeks of the holidays, from Friday, the 5th of April to Sunday, the 21st of April, 1,285,000 passengers will be passing through Brussels Airport, 30,000 more than in 2018. Not forgetting the 81,000 passengers who will be joining the crowd on Easter Monday, which marks the end of the holidays. The busiest days will be Friday, the 5th of April and Monday, the 15th of April, when 84,000 passengers will be skipping through Brussels Airport.

The top destinations of these Easter holidays are, according to Brussels Airlines, Geneva, Milan, Rome, Madrid, Malaga and Nice for Europe. The most popular destinations further afield are New York, Washington, Accra, Toronto and Dakar. At TUI fly, there is a lot of demand for Spain, Turkey, the Canary Islands and Egypt. For more exotic destinations, the Caribbean, Mexico and the Dominican Republic are very popular.

Once again, a flurry of entertainment will be laid on for all these passengers, putting everyone in a good mood in keeping with the seasonal celebrations. As it’s Easter, eggs and bunnies will be in the spotlight.

Easter eggs will be distributed to young and old while larger than life bunnies will play music and pose for cool photos. For the children, a mini spring garden has been created in the Connector, complete with games. A space they can discover after having gone through screening via the Family Lane, specially designed for families with children and decorated on the theme of the 101 Dalmatians.

Also in Connector, passengers will be able to discover the breath-taking Neuhaus chocolate statue created in collaboration with floral artist Daniël Ost.

And because there is a distinct hint of spring in the air, passengers will once again be invited to make the most of our outdoor terrace just next to the departure hall.

The airport shops are also proud to welcome new arrivals for passengers who are taking off for but also returning from their holidays. For example, MAC, the famous make-up brand, and Jo Malone, the British perfume house, are now represented at Brussels Airport. And if the thought of all that chocolate is making you hungry, Black Pearls is also offering the opportunity to eat sushi on the go while Blend in Brussels has become "Café Comptoir".
