DSV opens new 12,600 m² energy-neutral warehouse at Brussels Airport, marking a new era of sustainable growth and strategic expansion

Global transport and logistics leader DSV proudly announces the official opening of its new 12,600 m² warehouse facility at Brucargo, the logistics zone of Brussels Airport. This milestone underscores DSV’s commitment to long-term investment in Belgium and its strategic positioning at the heart of European logistics.

Opening doors to the future of logistics

Designed to the highest environmental standards, the energy-neutral facility represents DSV’s dedication to operating more sustainably and developing future-proof infrastructure. Importantly, 50% of the warehouse is dedicated to Healthcare logistics, offering fully compliant, temperature-controlled environments (2°-8°C, 15°-25°C and -20°C) for pharmaceuticals and life science products.

“This facility is a major milestone for us and a strong signal of DSV’s commitment to the Belgian market,” said Natalie Segers, Managing Director, DSV Air & Sea Belgium.
“Not only is it energy-neutral and strategically located, it’s also a key asset in our further growth towards dedicated healthcare logistics and other industry verticals.”

"With this second facility at Brucargo Central, Brussels Airport continues to shape a logistics ecosystem where partners like DSV can thrive. Through Brucargo Central, we are providing top-tier infrastructure that meets today’s operational needs and supports tomorrow’s ambitions, including dedicated capabilities for pharma. This investment reinforces Brussels Airport’s leading position as smart, sustainable and future-ready logistics hub in Europe”, said Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport.

The warehouse opening also reflects the company’s forward momentum following the acquisition of DB Schenker, with visible integration now taking shape in key logistics markets.

DSV is also committed to working hand-in-hand with industry and academia to drive innovation. The company is a member of Pharma.Aero, a global life sciences logistics network headquartered in Belgium.

“This new DSV facility is a benchmark example of how logistics infrastructure should evolve, combining operational efficiency, sustainability, and sector-specific expertise,” said Professor Roel Gevaers of the University of Antwerp, an expert in supply chain innovation and last-mile logistics. “Academic and industry collaboration, like the one between DSV and Pharma.Aero plays a critical role in advancing next-generation logistics solutions.”

Innovation through partnership

DSV’s active partnerships with packaging specialists, airlines, and industry associations underline its approach to collaborative innovation and reinforce its role as a leading force in the transformation of the global logistics landscape.

Brussels Airport calls for further flexibility in implementation of the new European border registration system
Brussels Airport is relieved with the postponement of the registration of biometric data in the new European border registration system, the EES. Last week, waiting times at border control for non-European passengers rose to two hours at departures and more than three hours at arrivals. For departing passengers, this leads to missed flights and delays. In the past days, 600 passengers have missed their flight. The airport is therefore urging the relevant ministers to advocate at European level for further easing of the roll-out of the EES. In addition, full staffing of all border posts by the federal police and the resumption of the use of e-gates by third-country nationals as soon as possible remain crucial to ensuring acceptable waiting times.
