Swiftly to Brussels Airport thanks to the Brussels Airport Smart City Dashboard

Real-time information thanks to Manyways.be

To make the travel experience of its passengers even more pleasant, Brussels Airport and Manyways.be have launched a specially designed smart city dashboard. The dashboard provides real-time detailed information on all traffic to and from the airport to address the specific needs of everyone who travels via Brussels Airport.

Manyways.be endeavours to make technical mobility data legible for users without any technical knowledge. Thanks to an innovative technology developed at the initiative of the federal government, companies and private individuals can now use ground breaking mobility strategies devised by Waylay and MORE LION.

The Brussels Airport smart city dashboard is geared both passengers and commuters. The data are mapped in real time and in a comprehensive way on a dashboard via instant visualization and are supplemented with insightful graphs.

The Brussels Airport Smart City Dashboard charts car, train and bus traffic and shows particularly, in real time, how many cars are driving on the Brussels ring road and at what speed, the availability of different parking facilities at the airport, carpooling available to and from the airport and the punctuality of public transport.

Users can get detailed mobility information of a specific place at the tick of a symbol, while mobile users can always situate themselves on a map. The dashboard is accessible via https://www.brusselsairport.be/en/passengers/access-parking/drive-or-rent-a-car/driving-instructions.

Brussels Airport calls for further flexibility in implementation of the new European border registration system
Brussels Airport is relieved with the postponement of the registration of biometric data in the new European border registration system, the EES. Last week, waiting times at border control for non-European passengers rose to two hours at departures and more than three hours at arrivals. For departing passengers, this leads to missed flights and delays. In the past days, 600 passengers have missed their flight. The airport is therefore urging the relevant ministers to advocate at European level for further easing of the roll-out of the EES. In addition, full staffing of all border posts by the federal police and the resumption of the use of e-gates by third-country nationals as soon as possible remain crucial to ensuring acceptable waiting times.
