New bus station at Brussels Airport from 7th May

Buses running to and from the airport will soon have a new station at Brussels Airport. To clear the site area for the new intermodal hub, the bus station will move to a new location 100 metres from the departure and arrival hall from Thursday 7th May. There will be five platforms for all bus traffic, for both public buses from De Lijn and STIB/MIVB, and intercity coaches. This move has no impact on bus schedules.
Brussels Airport is taking another step in preparations for the Hub 3.0 infrastructure project. To clear the site area for the new intermodal hub, which is due for completion by 2030, the bus station at the airport is moving to a new location for the next four years. From 7th May, all bus traffic will arrive and depart from a new five-platform bus station, located 100 metres from the departure and arrival hall.
The new bus station is still at level 0 at the airport. A covered walkway will lead to the terminal, where a new access will be provided. All eight bus lines operated by De Lijn, line 12 of STIB/MIVB, the intercity buses operated by Flibco, Flixbus and Airport Express and other shuttle buses will have their terminus at the new bus station. Its new location will not have any impact on bus schedules.
In addition to the bus station, this new location will also house the lockers for passengers, which are currently also located next to the bus station. This gives travellers who want to go into the city before or after their flight the opportunity to store their luggage safely at the airport.
600 buses per day
Some 600 buses run to and from Brussels Airport every day, meaning there are more bus movements than flights each day. Bus services make out an essential part of the public transport to and from the airport. Some 1.3 million passengers and employees travel to and from the airport by bus every year. Thanks to this new bus station, buses can continue to operate normally, even during the works for the new intermodal hub.
The new intermodal hub will bring all modes of public transport together, with more space and smoother connections. By 2030, there will be an improved connection to the underground train station, a renovated central bus station, a renovated taxi area, a new platform for intercity buses and the terminus for the airport tram. In doing so, Brussels Airport is investing in the airport's role as a mobility hub for passengers, staff and all residents of the region.
