Aviato Jobfair welcomes a record
6,000 visitors

Jobseekers connected with 50 participating companies

Aviato, the employment hub of Brussels Airport, hosted today the fifth edition of the Aviato Jobfair in the iconic Skyhall at Brussels Airport. Organised in collaboration with Brussels Airport Company, VDAB, Actiris, VOKA – Chamber of Commerce Flemish Brabant, POM Flemish Brabant, SFAL and SFTL, this year’s event welcomed nearly 6,000 jobseekers, students and other interested visitors. They had the opportunity to discover 400 job opportunities at the airport as well as hundreds of additional opportunities across various sectors in the region.

Aviato and its partners – Brussels Airport Company, VDAB, Actiris, VOKA – Chamber of Commerce Flemish Brabant, POM Flemish Brabant, SFAL and SFTL – jointly organised this fifth edition of the Aviato Jobfair, which registered a record 6,000 participants. Jobseekers from across Belgium were able to meet not only employers based at Brussels Airport, but also companies from the wider region.

With an exceptional view of the tarmac, where visitors could watch the continuous movement of aircraft, more than 50 companies presented their job opportunities. Major employers included Brussels Airport Company, G4S, Securitas, Safran, Orizio, Eligio, Nippon Express and Swissport Cargo Services, among many others.

"With more than 50 participating companies and a record 6,000 registrations, the Aviato Jobfair attracted jobseekers interested in opportunities at the airport, in the surrounding area, and far beyond. We are especially proud of this success, which reflects the growing reputation of the fair and shows that candidates increasingly recognise who we are. Thanks to our close collaboration with VDAB, Actiris and Le Forem, we are reaching an even wider audience, with more than half of the visitors coming from Brussels, said Inge Spincemaille, General Manager of Aviato.
The Aviato Jobfair is a real success for us, year after year. This is already our fifth time participating, and each edition allows us to meet strong hospitality profiles for the many opportunities at Brussels Airport and in its surroundings. It’s truly a win-win situation, added Kim Fannoy, Talent Management & HR Responsible of Eligio.

The most in-demand profiles at Brussels Airport and in the surrounding area

At Brussels Airport, the most sought‑after profiles range from blue‑collar workers and technicians to administrative and office staff. There is also strong demand for customs officers, security and screening personnel, cargo and logistics staff, chefs, and employees in hospitality, food service and retail. In the airport’s cargo zone, logistics talents are particularly valued, including at Nippon Express Belgium.

“For Nippon Express, our first participation in the Aviato Jobfair is a fantastic opportunity to meet new talent in the logistics sector. As a major player at Brucargo, we want to work with Aviato to highlight the diversity and the exciting nature of careers within Brussels Airport’s cargo zone”, said Jennifer Roggeman, HR Officer of Nippon Express Belgium

As an additional attraction, the Federal Police’s Airport Police unit captivated visitors with a demonstration featuring their specially trained sniffer dogs. This unique insight into their daily work highlighted the wide range of professions present at the airport and in its vicinity.

Aviato Jobfair: where talent goes beyond borders

Aviato attracts talent across language borders and works closely with partners such as VDAB, Actiris and Le Forem to enhance interregional labour mobility. The results speak for themselves: 54% of candidates came from the Brussels-Capital Region, 41% from Flanders and 5% from Wallonia.

For jobseekers who do not yet have all the required skills, information booths from LOGOS, GTB, Actiris, VDAB, Le Forem and the Cité des Métiers offered guidance and directed them towards training programmes to help them develop new competencies.

Aviato, together with several partners, also supports candidates in developing or strengthening their skills while offering concrete solutions for shortage occupations at and around the airport. Although these roles can be challenging to fill due to a lack of experience, specific skills, language knowledge or irregular working hours, they represent real opportunities for jobseekers and career changers.

At Aviato, we actively target shortage occupations at the airport. Together with employers, we organise job cafés for roles in technical, logistics, security and airport police functions. With our partners, we also offer tailored training for positions such as cargo and baggage handlers, security agents, kitchen assistants or aircraft maintenance technicians. In addition, we bring companies together in dedicated working groups on logistics and technical fields to encourage knowledge sharing and strengthen the airport community,” said Inge Spincemaille.

Aviato connects companies and jobseekers both within and beyond the airport ecosystem. As a unique employment platform, Aviato organises targeted initiatives and collaborates with its partners to strengthen the talent pipeline and promote confidence in sustainable careers. In 2025, 157 initiatives were organised, ranging from company visits and Airport Job Discovery sessions to information sessions, job fairs and training programmes.

Balanced Approach procedure launched: Brussels Airport aims for sustainable growth with less nuisance
At the launch of the Balanced Approach procedure, Brussels Airport stresses the importance of a stable and coherent operational framework that provides legal certainty and enables sustainable growth, while realistically reducing the impact on the environment. The airport does warn that the very stringent noise reduction targets set by the governments will require drastic measures. The Balanced Approach procedure is European regulation that determines how noise reduction should be addressed. Last year, Brussels Airport's environmental permit was revoked because it contained strict operating restrictions without applying this procedure. The Flemish and federal governments are now jointly rolling out this procedure so the Flemish government can lawfully take a new decision concerning the permit application of Brussels Airport. Brussels Airport will cooperate actively and constructively to enable sustainable growth and reduced nuisance.

Brussels Airport plays a pioneering role in the transport of innovative cancer treatments
The first test shipments of human cell and blood material representative of precision therapies, including innovative treatments for cancer and rare diseases, have departed from Brussels Airport to Dallas (US). The shipments are part of the Precision Therapy Logistics Gateway (PTLG) project. This project analyses how precision therapies can be transported safely and quickly worldwide and identifies risks within existing logistics processes. Following the test shipments, Brussels Airport and its project partners aim to become the first airport to develop an internationally recognised standard for the air transport of these treatments. Options for setting up a specialised logistics centre at the airport are also being explored.
