Brussels Airport: Sponsor of the EuroHockey Championships 2019 in Antwerp

Brussels Airport attaches much importance to a healthy mind in a healthy body. That is why the airport is sponsoring the Belfius EuroHockey Championships 2019 this year. The best European hockey teams, including the Red Lions and the Red Panthers, will compete for the title of European Champion.

Our airport has been the proud sponsor of the Brussels Airport Marathon and Half Marathon since last year. This year, we are moving up a gear and are also sponsoring the Belfius EuroHockey Championship 2019. As airport in the heart of Europe, we aim to connect Belgium with the rest of the world. By sponsoring an internationally renowned sporting event such as the EuroHockey Championship, we make sure in particular that our country is showcased in a positive light in many other European countries. Great interest from Belgium itself is also guaranteed thanks to the recent success of the Red Lions who won the Men’s Hockey World Cup this past December.

The EuroHockey Championship will this year be held from 16 to 25 August at the Wilrijkse Plein hockey fields (in Antwerp). The eight best men’s and women’s European national teams will compete for the title of European champion. Brussels Airport is wholeheartedly behind the Red Lions and the Red Panthers. Fans who wish to cheer them on personally can buy tickets for the matches on http://www.belfiuseurohockey.com/en/.

Brussels Airport moreover organizes a unique competition for the youngest hockey fans. Parents can register their children born between 2009 and 2012 for the Kids Line Up competition. The winners will get a chance to join their hockey heroes on the field during the opening match or the final of the EuroHockey Championship and can attend all matches on that day together with one of their parents. Registration to participate is open until 19 June on https://kidslineupek.brusselsairport.be/
