Record revenue and record investment for Brussels Airport Company in 2025

Share of flights operated with most noise efficient aircraft rises by 10 percentage points to 42%

Growth in passenger and cargo traffic at Brussels Airport in 2025 produced a new record revenue of €828 million, 6% up from 2024. The airport recorded a net profit of €84 million and a record €302 million was invested in airport facilities last year. Differentiated airport charges and airline fleet evolution ensured that, in 2025, 42% of flights were operated using the most noise efficient aircraft. This figure has more than doubled over the last 10 years.

"Despite the challenges we faced in 2025, we have once again achieved strong financial results with record turnover. 2025 was also a record year in terms of investment. Year after year, we continue to invest in the quality of our infrastructure to ensure we keep offering a high-quality experience for our clients. At the same time, we are also preparing our airport for the decades ahead, enabling the future growth of our operations for the benefit of our passengers and partners, and thereby securing our key role for the Belgian economy. How we grow is just as important. By reducing our airport charges for the most noise-efficient aircraft, we are encouraging airlines to fly with modern, quieter aircraft. And the figures show that this approach is bearing fruit, year after year", said Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport Company.

Brussels Airport welcomed 24.4 million passengers in 2025, 3.3% more than in 2024, despite the negative impact of the seven national strike days. It also handled 795,000 tonnes of cargo, 8.5% more than in 2024, thereby showing stronger growth than the global average.

Thanks to these positive results, revenues for the Brussels Airport Company rose to a record €828 million; an increase of 6% compared to 2024. Expenses also rose, mainly due to increased passenger traffic and associated security costs, as well as rising maintenance costs. Expenses amounted to €472 million (vs. €439 million in 2024).

As a result, Brussels Airport Company achieved an EBITDA of €356 million in 2025, showing an increase of 3% (345 million in 2024). The net profit was €84 million, a reduction of €7 million compared 2024. This decrease was due to higher tax payments than in previous years. For the first time since 2019, dividends for an amount of €41 million will be paid to shareholders.

In 2025, a record amount of €302 million was invested. Investments were made in safety, comfort and capacity for passengers and logistic partners including new buildings at Brucargo Central, the new P30 car park, the renovation of runway 25L/07R and the new The View lounge in Pier B.

Fleet renewal leads to growing share of quieter flights

There were 198,000 commercial aircraft movements at Brussels Airport in 2025. Since April 2023, Brussels Airport has applied strongly differentiated airport charges, with the quietest aircraft paying up to 20 times less than the noisiest aircraft. This way, the airport wants to give airlines a strong incentive to use more modern, quieter and less polluting aircraft at Brussels Airport.

The share of flights operated with the most noise efficient aircraft has increased from 32% in 2023 to 42% in 2025. This means that today, 42% of all flights use the most noise-efficient aircraft, such as the A320neo. An increase of 10 percentage points in just two years. Over the past decade, the share of flights operated by the most noise efficient aircraft has doubled: from 20% in 2016, when differentiated charges were first introduced, to 42% in 2025. This confirms that airline fleet renewal and a proactive policy on airport charges is yielding tangible results year after year.

This is an important development that shows that growth can go hand in hand with reducing environmental impact, thanks to the efforts of both the airport and the airlines. In addition, Brussels Airport will continue its efforts to reduce ground noise with the further electrification of ground support equipment, a ground run-up enclosure and additional noise barriers in the coming years.
